Create bulk QR codes from CSV.
Working from Excel or Google Sheets instead? Start with the spreadsheet guide. Turn filename, text rows into named static QR SVG files and a manifest, with no cap on how many. BulkQR Local builds the ZIP in your browser without uploading the CSV or putting a redirect service in the codes.
Copy the CSV template
filename,text
front-desk,https://example.com/check-in
wifi-help,"Ask the front desk, then scan again"The header must be exactly filename, text. Save or paste the CSV as UTF-8; a UTF-8 byte-order mark and Windows line endings are accepted.
Create the QR ZIP in four steps
- Put one output name and one QR payload on each CSV row.
- Open the browser-local generator and replace its example CSV with yours.
- Select Generate QR ZIP. The entire batch is rejected if a row is invalid, so fix the reported rule and try again.
- Open the downloaded ZIP and compare
manifest.jsonwith the SVG filenames before using the codes.
CSV rules checked before generation
- Batch: the UTF-8 CSV is at most 64 KiB and contains at least one data row. There is no row limit above that: the work happens in your browser, so there is no per-batch cost to ration.
- Filename: each unique name is 1–64 characters in lowercase kebab case: alphanumeric segments separated by single hyphens, with no leading or trailing hyphen. Do not add
.svg. - Text: each payload is 1–512 UTF-8 bytes. Quote fields containing commas or newlines, and write a literal quote as two quotes inside a quoted field.
For example, lobby,"Ask for ""Taylor"", then scan" creates lobby.svg with the payload Ask for "Taylor", then scan.
What the ZIP contains
Each CSV row becomes one 512-wide static SVG with medium error correction and a four-module margin. The ZIP also contains manifest.json, which records the exact filename-to-payload mapping. The payload is embedded in the static code: it cannot be edited after printing, and BulkQR Local does not host, shorten, inspect, or track it.
Print-check every batch
- Inspect the manifest and open a sample SVG.
- Print the sample at its final physical size and on the intended material.
- Scan it with a camera and app your audience will use, then confirm the displayed destination or text.
Payload density, print quality, damage, contrast, camera, and scanning app all affect results, so no QR generator can promise that every printed code will scan.
